Colossus is a boutique hotel set to be in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. It's distillery component, while being in the same building as the hotel, is separated through physical components such as doors, a separate entrance, materiality, and colour choices.
The cocktail bar serves as a link between the hotel and the nighttime crowd of Winnipeg, attracting a lively demographic to the area. Through raw stone features such as travertine, cement, and marble, the space has a maximalist and monolithic vibe. Incorporating a contrasting colour scheme such as warm, coppery reds and grey-toned slate blues, this hotel feels sensuous and romantic.
